Locals are holding an egg that was purchased by a man named Danish Ahmad for Rs 70,000. The total amount raised from the repeated egg auction is around Rs 2.2 lakh in Malpora, Sopore District, Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir, India, on April 15, 2024. ''We are desperate to complete the construction of this mosque. It has been waiting to have its roof completed, but the Jamia is slightly bigger and requires a substantial amount of money,'' Danish is saying, speaking from Warpora, the neighboring village, where he is running a solar appliances shop. ''I am not a rich man, but it was just the passion and emotion towards the sacred space that made me do this.''

The shortest distance between the roof of the residential building and the bridge slab is less than one meter. The houses also shake with the bridge every time a heavy car passes by. In the 1990s, part of the land was requisitioned for the construction of the airport expressway. As compensation, the vacant land under the bridge is used to build resettlement housing and low-rent housing for poor families. The bridge was completed in May 1997, and the residential buildings were completed in 1999. These houses still do not have real estate procedures, becoming a ''historical problem'' in the city.
