The Election Commission establishes offices in all 165 constituencies across Nepal as the Himalayan nation marches towards the March 5 election to elect new members for its House of Representatives. Earlier, the Commission publishes the final list of candidates under the proportional representation system. Of the total 275 members of the House of Representatives, 110 are elected through the proportional system, while 165 are elected through the direct electoral system. An interim government formed for election purposes following the Gen-Z protests on September 8 and 9 arranges the necessary resources for the polls. The process of selecting police personnel for election security has already begun.

Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu, Sunita Dangol, arrives for the Central Committee meeting of the CPN-UML in Lalitpur, Nepal, on January 10, 2026. Decisions taken in the Central Secretariat meetings on December 27, 2025, and January 6 are submitted for approval; these decisions are already implemented through the party's Inter-Party Directive-1. Additionally, party Chair Oli distributes certificates to officials and members elected to the Central Committee during the Eleventh National Convention.

From the Pokharel panel, Binda Pandey loses the vice-chairperson race, while Rachana Khadka is defeated in the secretary contest. All nine secretary positions are secured by candidates from the Oli panel, underlining its overwhelming dominance in the party's new leadership structure.
