Barsha Man Pun, former Finance Minister of Nepal and leader of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), arrives at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers for the all-party meeting convened by the interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki in Nepal, on November 19, 2025. In the meeting, the interim Prime Minister sends a clear and stern message to political parties to ensure the success of the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5, 2026. Karki warns that demands for the reinstatement of parliament or election boycotts could push the country back into instability. PM Karki states that her government is formed on the basis of youth movements and public dissatisfaction with corruption, making elections essential to provide a constitutional solution for the country. ''Those who believe in democracy have no option but to participate in elections,'' she says.

Supporters of France's former president Nicolas Sarkozy gather outside his residence ahead of his departure to La Sante prison for incarceration on a five-year prison sentence, after being convicted of criminal conspiracy over a plan for late Libyan dictator Moamer Kadhafi to fund his 2007 electoral campaign, in Paris, France, on October 21, 2025. Nicolas Sarkozy, who faces a flurry of legal woes since losing re-election in 2012, is jailed on October 21, 2025, over a scheme to acquire Libyan funding for his successful 2007 presidential run, becoming the first former head of a European Union country to serve time behind bars.
