A number of young activists from a Milk Tea Alliance network in Indonesia held a solidarity action for the people of Myanmar related to the military coup, in front of ASEAN secretary office in Jakarta, on March 12, 2021. In the actions, they criticized Myanmar's military junta and called ASEAN member states, UN Security Council and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to immediately take a firm to stand with people of myanmar and encourage overseas efforts to return power to the people of Myanmar. According to a group advocating for The Assistance for Political Prisoners Association, there were more than 2.000 protesters detained by security forces, and 60 protesters has been killed since Myanmar's elected leader Aung San Suu Kyi wa put on a coup on February 1.
