The indigenous Karo family, with Tampai Ginting, age 43, his wife Nurhalimah Br Sembiring Milala, age 33, and their children, Gebri Br Ginting, age 7, and Gloria Br Ginting, age 2, are having lunch at their former plantation in Gamber Village, Simpang Empat District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra Province, Indonesia, on November 21, 2023. Nurhalimah, who lost both her parents and a younger brother to the Sinabung volcano's eruption on May 21, 2016, has yet to receive confirmation from the Indonesian government about the relocation house promised as a solution for the disaster's victims.
