On January 5, 2026, in Mexico City, Mexico, canine units from the Secretariat of Citizen Security and the Bank Police help the Three Wise Men receive letters written by children for Three Kings Day, celebrated on January 6. According to tradition, the Gospel of Matthew mentions that some ''wise men'' who come from the East are guided by a star to worship a newborn baby. The names Melchior, Caspar, and Balthasar first appear in a 6th-century mosaic in the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare Nuovo in Ravenna, Italy. According to a 13th-century manuscript, the Three Wise Men are believed to protect against epilepsy, and it is said that simply whispering a short prayer in the ear of a sick person, pronouncing the names of the Three Kings, is enough to cure them. In some parts of Europe, on January 6, the initials GBM are inscribed on all the doors of houses and stables to safeguard people and animals against supposed attacks by demons, witches, and evil spirits.

NARSINGH touches and kills HIRANYAKASHYAPU during the eighth day of the Kartik Naach at Kartik Dabali, Patan Durbar Square, in Patan, Nepal, on November 3, which extends into November 4. Lord Vishnu, in his half-man, half-lion form, emerges from the pillar at twilight to protect his devotee PRAHLAD. Using his divine strength and claws, NARSINGH strikes down the tyrant king, fulfilling Brahma’s boon while restoring dharma. The scene symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and forms the climax of the ten-day traditional dance-drama dating back to the 17th-century Malla period.
