A female demonstrator holds a birdcage and the Tunisian flag during a popular march that brings together thousands of Tunisians, including opposition supporters, human rights activists, civil society members, and families of detained opposition figures in Tunis, Tunisia, on January 10, 2026. According to organizers, the march takes place under the slogans ''Injustice Heralds Revolution'' and ''Revolutionary Mandate Against Tyranny'' and aims for the restoration of the spirit of the Tunisian Revolution and the defense of freedom and dignity, asserting that the revolution belongs to the people. Participants denounce an escalating crackdown on freedoms and rights, describing it as an injustice under President Kais Saied's rule. The march comes in response to President Kais Saied's claim that a pro-Saied rally on the revolution's 15th anniversary in December 2025 reflects a popular mandate, a claim that critics challenge due to limited and orchestrated turnout.

A demonstrator raises a scarf bearing the UGTT union logo during a march organized by the Tunisian General Labour Union (French: UGTT) heading towards the mausoleum of union leader Farhat Hached in Tunis, Tunisia, on December 4, 2025, to mark the 73rd anniversary of his assassination. The commemoration escalates into a protest against President Kais Saied's economic and social policies. Trade unionists demand the protection of union rights and freedoms, as well as the resumption of social dialogue and salary negotiations. The UGTT denounces that the planned salary increases in the private and public sectors, as outlined in the 2026 Finance Bill, are implemented without any social dialogue with the government. The confrontation between the UGTT and President Kais Saied's government reflects a broader political crisis that unfolds since 2021, raising concerns among trade unions and civil society actors. The UGTT warns of a potential general strike.

A young pro-Palestinian woman holds up a sign reading in Arabic 'breaking the siege is a duty' during a march organized by civil society, feminist, and human rights organizations, including Amnesty International and the Tunisian League of Human Rights (LTDH), in Tunis, Tunisia, on June 15, 2025. The march brings together dozens of pro-Palestinian demonstrators in support of the international movements, the Global March to Gaza and the Maghreb Resilience Convoy. These humanitarian movements aim to head towards the Rafah border crossing in Egypt to lift the blockade of Gaza amid Israel's ongoing war in the enclave. Demonstrators also call for the criminalization of all normalization of relations with Israel while expressing support for the Palestinian resistance. The Global March to Gaza is a civilian-led international initiative, scheduled to begin on June 15, 2025, aiming to march from Arish, Egypt, to the Rafah border crossing with the Gaza Strip in Palestine. Two days earlier, hundreds of participants in the Global March to Gaza arriving in Cairo have their passports taken at a checkpoint and are detained and deported to their home countries in Europe and North Africa.
