During the years that the country was involved in drought, people in the Qaleh Ganj who are farmers or livestock growers lost their wealth and the Iranian government is trying to fight with the developmental problems of poverty in the area. Most of the people living in the Qaleh Ganj area are Shiite and about twenty percent of them are Sunni.
