An anti-Trump protester is demonstrating across the street from the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse in New York City, alongside Collect Pond Park, as former US President Trump arrives on the morning of opening arguments, on April 22, 2024. The park has recently reopened to the public a few days after the death of Max Azzarello, 37, who died from his injuries after setting himself on fire at this site. Trump is being accused of falsifying business records to cover up payments made to conceal information from voters in the 2016 election. This marks the first time a former U.S. president is facing a criminal trial.
