A flag holder stays near the French poet Guillaume Apollinaire’s portrait during a ceremony held on Novembre 8, 2018, at the grave of the poet at Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, during the commemorative events of the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. Naturalized as a French citizen in 1916, Guillaume Apollinaire fought at the front in Champagne as lieutenant of the 96th Infantry Regiment. Weakened from shrapnel injuries, he died just two days before the Armistice on November 9th from the Spanish flu.

On this day devotees perform traditional worship of snakes or serpents to ward evil spirits observed by Hindus throughout Nepal and India.Nag Panchami is the day in which Snakes are worshiped Nepal as well as in India and Hindu’s Countries. Nags means Snakes and Panchami means the fifth day after no-moon day. This festival is celebrated with faith and passions. On this day, devotees worshiping Lord Shiva, the holder of serpent, is considered auspicious.
