Kurdish citizens, including women and children, gather at the foot of the historic Erbil Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the oldest continuously inhabited places in the world, in Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan. Despite the rainy weather, participants carry and wear the Kurdish national flag (Ala Rengin) during a demonstration of national unity and solidarity with Kurds in Rojava (Northern Syria). The image captures the powerful intersection between ancient history and contemporary national aspirations, showcasing the enduring resilience of the Kurdish identity in the heart of its capital.
