A rainbow appears in Mexico City, Mexico, on August 3, 2025. According to the Institute of Geosciences of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, a rainbow forms by a series of concentric arcs of colors that are observed when light from a distant source, usually the Sun, hits a group of water droplets, such as during or just after rain, and is observed in the opposite direction to the Sun.
