France is facing another day of strikes and demonstrations for the tenth time since protests began in mid-January against the law, which includes raising the retirement age from 62 to 64.

Polls show 67% french people say they want the stirkes to intensify to pass and that 93% of workers oppose the pension reform. The retirement age would be raised to 64 years (for 43 years of continued work) and the pensions will be lower specially for women, 'short careers' and low wages people. Riot police intervend during the protest and scuffles happened between protesters and riot police who used tear gas. Toulouse. France. March 23th 2023.

After the use by French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne of the 49.3 article (which bypass the Parliament vote) to pass the Macron's pension reform and the defeat of the motion of no confidence trade unions, political parties gathered this evening to protest against the constitutionnal trick. People converged to make their voices heard . Riot policemen were all around the place. At the end of the gathering, some skirmishes happened between protesters and riot police (gendarmerie mobile). Riot police used tear gas. Pollings say 71% of French say they wanted the motion of no confidence to pass. This reform will be the first law promulgated without any vote at the Parliament since the 5th French constitution in 1958. The retirement age would be raised to 64 years (for 43 years of continued work) and the pensions will be lower specially for women, 'short careers' and low wages people.similar gatherings took place all over France.
