MULI, CHINA - JUNE 1, 2023 - Firefighters fight an underground fire under a century-old headless tree in Muli county, Liangshan, Sichuan province, China, June 1, 2023. At 11:00 a.m. on June 2, 2023, the forest fire in Jimaodian Village, Sanjueyya Township, Muli County, which happened on May 27, entered the stage of clearing emitters after Chengdu Brigade of Sichuan Provincial Forest Fire Brigade cleared a cliff smoke point in the middle section of the north line of the fire site with a large industrial UAV. Since the early morning of June 1, the local government has organized villagers and emergency militia to drive 25 small water tankers overnight to transport water from fire channels to the 3,700-meter-high mountain top to set up temporary water storage tanks, in an effort to ensure that fire rescue workers carry out water extinguishing operations.

The headless statue of Confederate general Robert E. Lee and the empty base on which it stood. The statue was cut into two pieces for transportation. The Virginia supreme court ruled last week that the six-story monument could be removed. It has yet to be determined whether the pedestal covered in anti-racism graffiti will be removed given its prominent role in the 2020 anti-racism uprising in Richmond.

The self-decapitated goddess holds her own severed head in one hand and a scimitar in another. Three jets of blood spurt out of her bleeding neck and are drunk by her severed head and two attendants. Chhinnamasta is shown standing on Kama Deva (the god of love and desire) and his wife Rati, who are engrossed in copulation. Below the couple lies a lotus and in the background is a cremation ground. Chhinnamasta is one of the Mahavidyas, ten tantric goddesses and a ferocious aspect of Devi, the Hindu Devine Mother. She symbolizes both aspects of Devi a life-giver and a life-taker. Her legends emphasize her sacrifice-sometimes with a maternal element, her sexual dominance and her self-destructive fury.
