More than 2,000 protesters are marching in Toulouse and cities across France on Saturday for a feminist protest against the far-right National Rally (RN) ahead of upcoming elections to the French parliament. Labour unions, student groups, political parties, and rights groups are calling for rallies to oppose RN, which is an anti-immigration, eurosceptic party. The left and the far-left are unionizing in a new umbrella called 'Front Populaire' (i.e., 'Popular Front'). President Emmanuel Macron is calling a snap legislative election, to be held in two rounds on June 30 and July 7, after his centrist alliance was trounced by the RN in last Sunday's European Parliament ballot.
