According to data by government agency, around 5,844 cases were registered on auto and taxi drivers in Mumbai in the first 10 months of the 2018-19 financial year. Of these, over 1000 cases included fare refusals. Other cases were related to meter tampering, inappropriate behavior, carrying surplus passengers and driving without a uniform or badge.
