On August 30, 2025, mothers and fathers of families of missing persons gather at the Glorieta de las Personas Desaparecidas in Mexico City, Mexico, where they participate in an ecumenical event and demand the return of their loved ones on the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances. According to the 2025 National Report on Missing Persons, the disappearance of persons in Mexico is widespread and systematic. After reaching 100,000 cases of missing persons in 2022, the number increases by 7.3% in 2023 and continues to rise by 6.3% in 2024 and 12% in 2025. To date, reports of missing persons continue to rise.
