At the Gare de l'Est, in addition to the very disrupted SNCF traffic, the metro station, although served by partially open RATP lines 4 and 7, remained closed and no trains were running on the evening of Monday 9 December 2019, on the 5th day of the strike against the pension reform, transport in Paris is still paralysed by the RATP and SNCF strike. At the end of the day, the few trains in circulation were stormed by Parisians where security guards were deployed to avoid crowd movements and accidents.
