A protester wears a vest reading 'Employment, wage, retirement, arduousness'. More than 7.000 people demonstrated in Toulouse called by French CGT, FSU and SUD labour unions and political parties (PCF, NUPES, etc.) during a nationwide day of strike seeking to capitalise on anger at decades-high inflation to expand weeks of industrial action at oil refineries to other economic sectors. They want to push for government measures to address inflation, workers' rights and pension reforms as inflation is shrinking their purchasing power. Protesters want President Macron to scrap his planned reforms of pensions and unemployment allowances. They push for a pay hike as inflation and energy prices are skyrocketing. They also support the strikes in refineries and nuclear power plants. Toulouse. France. October 19th 2022.

The jacket reads 'employment, wage, retirement, hardship'. Unionists from the CGT union (General Confederation of Labour) gathered near the Courthouse of Toulouse as ten of them were on trial. They were judged as they controlled and blocked machinery to leave a warehouse from the energy giant EDF. These 10 unionists protested against the Macron' planned reform on retirement and pensions (age, pension, conditions, etc.). Macron's governement proposes a change from a pay-as-you-go pension system to a system by points (capitalization). The French government also want an unification of all pension systems in France (except for policemen, military, congressmen, senators, ministers). Toulouse. France. January 31th 2020.
