The Istiqlal Mosque is an example of a house of worship that is carrying the green building concept and utilizing solar panels as one source of electricity to meet its electricity needs. The management has installed 500 solar panels, which have lowered the mosque's power bill by 25 percent. With slow-flow faucets and a water recycling system, worshipers are using far less water to cleanse themselves before prayers.
