Investigators with the NYPD Crime Scene Unit work the scene where 38-year-old Gregory Stewart is fatally shot in the head inside a NYCHA building at 1744 Watson Avenue within the confines of the 43rd Precinct, PSA 8 in Bronx, New York, United States, on December 7, 2025. On Sunday evening at approximately 2107 hours, police respond to a 911 call of a male shot inside 1744 Watson Avenue, within the confines of the 43rd Precinct/Police Service Area 8. Upon arrival, officers observe a 38-year-old male later identified as Gregory Stewart, who sustains a gunshot wound to the head inside a stairwell at the location. Stewart is transported by EMS to NYC Health+Hospitals/Jacobi, where he is pronounced deceased. A person of interest is taken into custody, and the investigation remains ongoing.
