White altocumulus clouds are seen before sunset in L’Aquila, Italy, on December 19th, 2023. Altocumulus clouds are medium-level clouds that form at altitudes ranging from approximately 2,000 to 7,000 meters (6,500-23,000 feet) above sea level. These clouds are primarily composed of water droplets and may appear as layers of small, white or gray clouds, often arranged regularly in the sky. Altocumulus clouds can be associated with impending weather changes and may indicate a deterioration in atmospheric conditions.
