Former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal (Right) gestures as he attends a press conference held upon the arrival of his spouse, Rabilaxmi Chitrakar (Left), at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, on December 22, 2025, after she undergoes treatment at Apollo Hospital in New Delhi, India, for three months. Chitrakar, who is seriously injured in a house fire during the Gen-Z movement and is on the verge of death, returns to Nepal after her health condition is stable and improving. Chitrakar sustains burn injuries when a mob sets her residence on fire on September 9. Burn doctors refer her to be flown to Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, by air ambulance as her condition complicates with infection spreading over her body, especially after she sustains serious injuries to her left hand.

17 December 2025

A woman wears a T-shirt bearing portraits of Tunisian President Kais Saied and shouts slogans while raising her arm as she attends a rally organized in Tunis, Tunisia, on December 17, 2025, in support of the president as the country marks Revolution Day, the 15th anniversary of the Tunisian revolution. Supporters also protest against the ''foreign interference'' in the internal affairs of Tunisia. The anniversary sets against a backdrop of deep division between supporters of the president and his opponents. It also unfolds amid a deep economic and social crisis, with intensified protests against President Kais Saied's policies and an escalating crackdown on opposition figures, journalists, and human rights activists since he assumes sweeping powers in July 2021. Revolution Day commemorates the start of the Tunisian revolution, triggered by the self-immolation of the street vendor, Mohamed Bouazizi, which sparks a popular uprising that leads to the flight of former President Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali on January 14, 2011.

11 December 2025

An opponent gestures near the entrance of the Court and near a false Environment Code before the beginning of the hearings. A final hearing on the legality of the environmental authorizations for the planned highway A69 between Toulouse and Castres takes place in the Administrative Court of Appeal of Toulouse. Plaintiffs against the A69 ask the court to nullify all environmental authorizations given for the A69 project. Opponents gather in front of the Administrative Court of Appeal during the hearings. They argue that this highway is not legally sound, that NGE/Atosca (builders) do not respect even their own documents about ecological compensations, violence against opponents, non-compliance with regulations, etc. NGE/Atosca and the Minister of Ecology plead that this highway is 'necessary by nature' and that the first decision of the Administrative Court to scrap the authorizations is an 'anomaly'. The verdict will be given on December 30, 2025. The main association 'La Voie est Libre' (i.e., 'The Way is Free') wants the building of the highway to be stopped until all the justice decisions on the content are given. Opponents of this project say that the reprofiling of the N126 will be sufficient for the 6,000 vehicles planned per day and would cost far less money. The A69 highway will cost EUR512 million (in 2018 euros without inflation) for 54 kilometers. This takes place in Toulouse, France, on December 11, 2025.
