Kashmir hosts its second international marathon, drawing over 1,500 participants, including athletes from Germany, Denmark, the United States, Ethiopia, Kenya, Japan, and Sri Lanka. The event features two race categories: a 22-kilometer half marathon and a full 42-kilometer marathon, offering a challenging route through the region's scenic landscapes. The marathon marks a significant milestone, highlighting Kashmir's growing prominence as a hub for sports tourism. Meanwhile, the government initiative aims to boost tourism in the Himalayan region, which is badly hit following the deadly Pahalgam attack that kills 26 tourists.
