Gianluca Sarais, once a month for two years, went to Kushiro prefecture of Hokkaido wearing a costume to wait to meet his son, but his ex-wife never took his son to the scheduled meeting. He arrived in Japan for the first time in 2007 to volunteer, established in 2008. He met his wife in 2010, He began to live with her at the end of 2011, they were married on May 23, 2014, the marriage registered at the Italian Embassy in Tokyo. With the marriage the wife took the surname Sarais, even in Japanese institutional offices. Their son Leonardo Rui Sarais was born on 22 September 2014. On 19 November 2014, his wife moved to her parents in Shibecha, on the island of Hokkaido, 1400 km north of Tokyo. In June 2015 Gianluca moved to Shiranuka, 80 km from Shibecha, where he found work and an apartment for his family, but his wife never came to live. On 14 June 2015 he was suddenly asked to divorce, his wife, with the support of his family, asked Gianluca to return to his country and not to be seen again. Since then, six different trial paths have been followed with sentences completely in favor of the father, in which the judges affirm that the father must be able to see the child at least once a month. Judgments never enforced. From the divorce of June 14, 2015 to today, he could see his son for 25 minutes inside a car in exchange for some personal belongings, and for 50 minutes in exchange for some furniture and appliances that were present in the house where they would had to live together. Since the end of October 2016 he lives and works in Ageo near Tokyo and continues his legal dispute to embrace his son after more than two years.
