The floral village, with a predominantly Newar settlement, begins preparations for flowers in February. Farmers sow seeds for the flowers by mid-March, and within a month and a half, the saplings are transferred into fields and are taken care of. Floriculture is done on 158 hectares of land, and around 44,000 people are directly and indirectly engaged in the sector. There are 800 commercial floriculturists in the country with a combined investment of NRs 6.5 billion.
