Players from a fanfare place a sticker against the A69. Opponents of the planned A69 highway gather in Maurens-Scopont, Tarn department, France, on July 6, 2025, for a weekend of protests called 'Turboteuf' at the domain of the Maurens-Scopont castle. After protesters try to break into the work site to reach a bridge, riot police and protesters scuffle. Riot police use volleys of tear gas canisters. The decision of the Administrative Court of Appeal of Toulouse greenlights the resumption of leveling works on the A69 highway. The Administrative Court of Toulouse decides on February 27 to suspend all works on the A69 project highway between Toulouse and Castres. NGE/Atosca files an appeal against this decision and asks the Court to let the works continue during the time the appeal is judged. Two senators and two MPs from the Tarn department propose a retroactive law to authorize the building of the A69. They say they want to bypass the decision of the Administrative Court of Toulouse. Atosca says all leveling works have begun and that more than 70% of highway structures are completed. However, the leveling works and highway structures do not match the numbers given by Atosca. Moreover, several problems plague the work, such as water evacuation and protection of species. The main association 'La Voie est Libre' (i.e., 'The Way is Free') wants the building of the highway to be stopped until all judicial decisions are given. All expropriations for farmers are not cleared. Opponents of this project say that the reprofiling of the N126 will be sufficient for the 6,000 vehicles planned per day and would cost far less money. The A69 highway will cost EUR512 million (in 2018 euros without inflation) for 54 kilometers. More than 100 protected species and 400 hectares of agricultural fields will be destroyed.

A young boy is filming 'Majo', the London plane named 'Outstanding Tree of the Year', with a sticker that reads 'No to the A69' on his smartphone. Georges Feterman, the president of the NGO A.R.B.R.E.S, is visiting the Crem'Arbres to award the coveted label of 'Outstanding Tree of the Year' to 'Majo', a London plane. This tree, along with others, would have been illegally cut down by NGE/Atosca if 'Ecureuils' (meaning 'squirrels') had not occupied the trees for 39 days. After a 39-day police siege of the Crem'Arbres, the French Justice has recognized that the Crem'Arbre must be protected and the trees should remain uncut until September 1st. People, sympathizers, and LVEL members are gathering for the award ceremony. In Saix, Tarn, France, on the planned A69 highway route between Toulouse and Castres, opponents have set up a ZAD named 'Crem'Arbre' (meaning 'Zone To Defend') and 'Ecureuils' have been living in the trees to prevent them from being cut down. The main collective 'La Voie est Libre' (meaning 'The Way is Free') is demanding that the highway construction be halted until all judicial decisions have been made. The expropriations for farmers have not been resolved. Opponents argue that reprofiling the N126 would be sufficient for the 6,000 vehicles expected per day and would cost much less. The A69 highway is projected to cost EUR512 million (in 2018 euros, excluding inflation) for 53 kilometers, and its construction would destroy over 100 protected species and 400 hectares of agricultural land. The event is taking place in Saix, Tarn, France, on April 26, 2024.

Stickers against several planned highways in France. The collectives 'La Voie Est Libre' (ie 'The Way Is Free'), the farmers organization Confederation Paysanne, XR Toulouse (Extinction Rebellion Toulouse) and 'Les soulevements de la Terre' organized a week-end of mobilization in Saix neart Castres (Tarn) against the beginning of the works on the decried future highway Toulouse-Castres, the A69. Thousands of people stayed in the camp with tents. They assisted to speeches, press conferences, information points before going protesting along places to be destroyed by the highway and on the N126 . This highway would cost (at date) EUR512millions for 54 kilometers, half of the money will be public. Opponents at this project say that the reprofiling of the N126 will be suffisant for the 6,000 vehicles planned per day and would cost far less money. More than 100 protected species and 400ha of agricultural field would be destroyed if the A69 highway is built. The A69 highway is already nicknamed 'Fabre highway' as it's this compagny which wants the A69 to be built. Saix. Tarn. France. April 22th 2023.
