A man walks near a row of old cemeteries belonging to residents whose homes were destroyed by a reservoir construction project covering an area of 8,800 hectares and submerged 51 villages in seven sub-districts in 1976-1980 in the Gajah Mungkur Reservoir, Wuryantoro District, Wonogiri, Central Java, Indonesia on October 6, 2023. This year's dry season is predicted to last longer, namely until the end of 2023 to the beginning of 2024, which is the impact of El Nino. Currently, amidst the threat of drought, the volume of raw water from the Gajah Mungkur Reservoir in the upper reaches of the Bengawan Solo River in Wonogiri Regency, Central Java has decreased drastically.
