In Warsaw, Poland, on August 6, 2025, an F-16 Fighting Falcon participates in the ceremony of accepting the Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Armed Forces at Marshal Jozef Pilsudski Square. Karol Nawrocki, supported by the Law and Justice party, wins the presidential election with a 50.89 percent majority, defeating Rafal Trzaskowski of the Civic Platform. On August 6, he is sworn in as President of the Republic of Poland in front of the National Assembly, and the ceremony of assuming command over the Polish Armed Forces takes place. To mark the occasion, a march of his supporters and the Law and Justice party moves through the streets of the capital.

Elaborate carving of the Hindu Goddess Durga in the form of Mahishasurmardhini (the slayer of Mahishasur) adorns the gate of the Chandshwari Temple in Banepa, Nepal, on December 11, 2011. Here Durga is slaying the half water buffalo demon-king Mahishasur. According to legend it was Mahishasur who was terrorizing Heaven and Earth and after ten days of fighting, Durga and her army defeated Mahishasur and killed him.
