A straw materials use for ring of fire dance during the Hiburi Kamakura Festival in Kakunodate town, Semboku, Akita Prefecture, Japan on Feb. 14, 2019. The 400 year old ritual takes place annually on Lunar New Year season to drive away evil spirits from a rice field, to wish for prosperity, avoidance of diseases and also for family safety. Hiburi Kamakura is a traditional New Years event in which participants light a tenpitsu, a bundle of rice ears and swing around their body and creates the fire rings that illuminates the snow-covered park where the event is held.
