Protesters are holding a banner against the building of a third prison in Muret near Toulouse. The banner reads ''The third jail in Muret, it's NO!'' Following the call of Greta Thunberg for a World School Strike and ''Fridays for Future,'' Youth For Climate and collectives, NGOs are taking to the streets of Toulouse to denounce the government's inaction towards the climate crisis even after the sixth IPCC assessment report. The window to keep the temperature under +1.5?C is rapidly closing, as precised in the IPCC report. They are also denouncing the lack of action against the environmental crisis by governments. The motto this year in Toulouse is against concreting and for islands of freshness in summer in cities. Several collectives such as ''La Voie Est Libre'' (against the planned A29 highway between Toulouse and Castres), ''No to the Rivel ZAC,'' XR, etc. are there. Toulouse, France, March 11th, 2023.

The banner reads 'No ! Another reform, another society, another school are possible'. France's labour unions led a third wave of nationwide strikes and protests against President Emmanuel Macron's plans to make the French work longer before retirement. More than 40,000 people protested in Toulouses against the planned reform of pension and retirement age to 64 from 62, a move opinion polls show is opposed by a vast majority (93%) of workers already facing a cost-of-living crisis. The retirement age would be raised to 64 years (for 43 years of continued work) and the pensions will be lower specially for women, 'short careers' and low wages people. The COR (Counsel of Pension Guidance), which depends of the Prime minister Office directly, said on September 2022 in its latest report that it sees no needs to reform the pension system as it shares in the French GDP will remain steady at least 2070. Nearly all sectors unions called for this strike and protest : mining and energy, health, schooling sector, transportation, trucks drivers, refining workers, bank workers, etc. Toulouse.
