A massive demonstration against TTIP-CETA-TISA trade agreements, took place on Ocotober 22 in Amsterdam at the Museumplein. The Dutch government aims to make effective international trade deals. Like the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the EU and the US. The Dutch government says that, according to Statistics Netherlands (CBS), 59% of the Dutch population work for a company that imports and/or exports goods and services. In addition, 800,000 people work for foreign companies operating in the Netherlands. Trade is therefore very important to their economy. But people on the streets has another opinion, they think that the negotiations are being held behind closed doors, and that the Dutch government is on the brink of signing several false and flawed trade agreements. TTIP, CETA and TiSA putting their future at risk. That is the reason of this demonstration today in Amsterdam. This demonstration is organised by the FNV, Greenpeace, Transnational Institute, foodwatch, SOMO, Milieudefensie en the Consumentenbond.
