Contrary to normal taxi drivers and those of the regular Uber service UberPop drivers are not required to carry a separate license, be insured as a taxi driver or be certified. UberPop drivers are seen as undercutting the competition due to not having the same mandatory expenses and their flexible tariffs. Certified taxi drivers are required to maintain a standard tariff which is electronically monitored.
