The Bulgarian motor vessel Ruen is arriving at the Black Sea port of Varna, Bulgaria, on May 10, 2024. The ship, which was hijacked and had 17 of its crew taken hostage on December 14, 2023, while it was 600 Nm east off the Somali coast, is now returning. Three months after Somali pirates hijacked the bulk carrier Ruen (IMO: 9754903), Indian Navy commandos have successfully rescued all 17 crew members and captured 35 pirates. On March 23, the 35 pirates were brought to Mumbai and handed over to the police for prosecution.
