Greece, Volos, July 27th 2023 - Ground firefighting forces were not able to approach the flames at the top of the hill, near Velestino (Sesklo village) and the winds were strong. Villagers were impatiently waiting for the daylight so the waterbombers could operate again.

Greece, Volos, July 27th 2023 - One of the most concerning wildifire for the Greek authorities was the one that started near Volos (Velestino) a port city in Thessaly region. The flames were completely out of control during the night as ground forces didn't manage to contain the fire without the help of waterbombers.
