The start of the Route du Rhum on Sunday, November 4th, in Pointe du Grouin, Brittany, France. The 123 skippers on the Route du Rhum that connects Saint-Malo (Brittany, France) to Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe) set off for a crossing of the Atlantic Ocean which should last 6 days for the most fast. From the start, the Ultimate Multihulls took the lead. About 20,000 spectators attended the departure.

On October 30, a few days before the start of the 11th edition of the Transat of the Route du Rhum from Saint-Malo in Brittany, France to Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe, many visitors went to the village of the race to admire the boats, and meet the skippers.On 4 November, 124 skippers will start this transatlantic transatlantic race divided into six categories : Ultimate, Multi50, IMOCA, Class40, Multi Rum and Mono Rum.
