Highway A69: Rare Hearing At The Administrative Court Of Appeal Of Toulouse For The Recusal Of Three Judges
28 November 2025
#13035684
28 November 2025
A rare hearing takes place in the Administrative Court of Appeal of Toulouse, France, on November 28, 2025, where plaintiffs against the A69 are joined by the SAF (Union of French Lawyers) to request the recusal of two judges from the panel who participated in a ruling that reauthorized the continuation of work on the planned A69 highway. Plaintiffs have already asked these judges to recuse themselves, but they refused. Plaintiffs approach the Administrative Court of Appeal, stating that these judges must be recused to protect the confidence of French citizens in the administrative courts and the entire judicial system. Lawyers also argue for the impartiality of justice. More than a dozen lawyers are present, as this is a very rare case in the French justice system. According to custom, if a judge has already judged a case, they recuse themselves if the same case returns to court. The main association, 'La Voie est Libre' (i.e., 'The Way is Free'), wants the construction of the highway to be stopped until all judicial decisions on the content are made. Opponents of the project say that the reprofiling of the N126 will suffice for the 6,000 vehicles planned per day and would cost far less money. The A69 highway will cost EUR512 million (in 2018 euros without inflation) for 54 kilometers.

Daily Life At The Paso Del Norte International Bridge In Ciudad Juarez, Mexico

3 February 2025
In Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, on an unspecified date, daily life continues as mass deportations of migrants occur across the Paso del Norte International Bridge in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. North American authorities hand over dozens of Mexican migrants to personnel from the National Migration Institute. Some migrants, while walking with their hands behind their backs and wearing face masks, mention that they plan to consider trying to cross into the United States again or, if not, return to their places of origin. This mass deportation, officially amounting to more than 4,000 people, occurs because the CBP One application stops working. This application, through an appointment, would allow them to know the possible migratory flow to the United States and reduce the possibility that organized crime affects their movement, among other challenges they face when passing through national territory. U.S. immigration authorities legalize raids in places previously considered ''protected,'' such as schools, churches, non-governmental organizations, and hospitals, and even conduct house arrests without any human rights protocol.

Gathering For Karine Brailly Whose Only Choice Left Is To Live Undignified Life Or Die
14 January 2025

A disabled man stands near a banner reading 'Stop handiphobia' and 'Nothing for us, without us'. The NGO Handi'social calls for a gathering in front of Purpan's teaching hospital to protest against the only choice left to Karine Brailly: to live an undignified life or die. Karine Brailly, an artist, has Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also called Charcot's disease. As her end is near, she asks to return to her house with a helper she chooses, but doctors refuse and tell her to accept a helper from Vitalliance, which has a record of mistreatment towards handicapped people. Doctors also refuse to treat her with an experimental treatment. Moreover, doctors accept a deep sedation for her at her request for this day, but in the morning, they say it is not possible at this moment. Protesters and handicapped people present demand that France respect the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The French National Assembly is poised to look at a new law called 'law on the end of life' this month in Toulouse, France, on January 14, 2025.
