Hundreds of people, mostly Ukrainian citizens gathered in Warsaw where sthe mayor of Warsaw, Rafal Trzaskowski and several European ambassadors spoke in support of the Ukrainian effort to defend themselves against continuing Russian aggression and reiterate Europe's long term backing. Since the start of the conflict in 2022 close to 7 million Ukrainians have been displaced leading to the largest refugee crisis in Europe since World War II.

In Oswiecim, Poland, on January 27, 2026, survivor Bogdan Bartnikowski lays wreaths and lights candles at the Death Wall near Block 11 during the 81st anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp. Auschwitz is a German Nazi concentration and extermination camp and remains the most recognizable symbol of the Holocaust. Jews from across Europe are murdered there, along with Poles, Roma, Sinti, and Soviet prisoners of war. On January 27, 1945, the Red Army enters the camp, liberating its prisoners. Twenty-one survivors participate in the commemoration.

In Warsaw, Poland, on December 19, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, meets with Donald Tusk, Prime Minister of Poland, at the Prime Minister's Chancellery during the Ukrainian president's official visit to Poland. During the visit, President Zelenskyy meets for the first time with Karol Nawrocki, President of Poland, at his invitation. The Ukrainian president then visits the Polish parliament to meet with the Speakers of the Sejm and the Senate, where he also lays flowers at a memorial plaque commemorating members of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland who are killed during World War II. The visit concludes with a meeting with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
