A river bed is seen deserted at the beginning of the summer season in the western part of Odisha, an eastern Indian state, located approximately 150 km from Bhubaneswar, India, on April 15, 2025. Many highland rivers appear dry at this time, a regular indication of water scarcity in these areas due to the annual drying of water channels.
