Livestock Farmers In Cantabria Mobilized Again With A Tractorcade And A Demonstration Through The Streets Of Santander, Spain, To Protest The MERCOSUR Treaty (a Free Trade Agreement Between The European Union And The Mercosur Member Countries). They Consider It Unfair Competition Due To The Lower Labor And Environmental Costs In These South American Countries. They Also Protested The Impact Of The Wolf Population, Which Is Killing Many Livestock, And Demanded That It Be Controlled And Removed From The Protected Species List. Finally, They Protested Against Cuts To Agricultural Policy. Livestock Unions Had Called For Protests In More Than 30 Autonomous Communities Across Spain.
