Street artists commemorate 1916 Rebelion in Dublin
The wall painting representing former Moira House by artist Sarah K. Ryan, commemorating the 1916 Irish Rebelion. This is one of six pieces put together by Irish street artists with their vision of the 1916 events. 28 Irish Volunteers occupied Moira House during the Irish Easter Week in 1916. The 1916 Rising, that began on Easter Monday and lasted a week, was launched by Irish republicans to end British rule in Ireland and establish an independent Irish Republic while the United Kingdom was heavily engaged in World War I.
