Candlemas Day In Mexico

Sculptures of the Child God inside the Parish of Santa María Magdalena located in the Coyoacán mayor's office, on the occasion of the Candlemas Day. During this day, they attend various churches in the capital to bless the Christ Child and celebrate the period that culminates with the cycle of the Christmas festivities within the Catholic Church. The celebration is also related to the tradition of Tenerife, Spain, of the Fiesta de las Candelas, or candles, which arose from the story of the appearance of the Virgin Mary in the 14th century.
