Holy Trinity Celebrations In Mexico City

View of an orchestra outside the Sanctuary of the Lord of Calvary located in Culhuacan, Mexico City, on the eve of the Feast of the Holy Trinity and Corpus Thursday in Mexico. According to the belief, the devotion to the Holy Trinity began in the tenth century, and from this time on its liturgical feast was also spreading, entering the Roman calendar in 1331. In this feast God is specifically honored without having as a motive an event of salvation, nor the memory of a saint. It is about ''professing the true faith, knowing the glory of the eternal Trinity and adoring its almighty unity''. Therefore, the Holy Trinity affirms that ''God is one being who exists as three distinct persons or hypostases: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit''. (Photo by Gerardo Vieyra/NurPhoto)
