Holy Trinity Celebrations In Mexico City

A troupe dances outside the Sanctuary of the Lord of Calvary located in Culhuacan, Mexico City, while a group of people gather on the eve of the Feast of the Holy Trinity and Corpus Christi Thursday in Mexico. According to the belief, the devotion to the Holy Trinity began in the 10th century, and from this time its liturgical feast was also spreading, entering the Roman calendar in 1331. In this feast God is specifically honored without having as a motive an event of salvation, nor the memory of a saint. It is about ''professing the true faith, knowing the glory of the eternal Trinity and adoring its almighty unity''. (Photo by Gerardo Vieyra/NurPhoto)
