Guelaguetza Festival In Mexico City

Men from the Cananea folkloric ballet and other folkloric dance groups from the Iztapalapa municipality in Mexico City are performing the fandango de las varitas on the eve of the Guelaguetza Festival in the State of Oaxaca on July 2, 2023. This festival has its origins in pre-Hispanic times and began with a ritual that was done to the ancient gods in a place called Daninayaaloani or Hill of Beautiful View.
