Tour Of Lublin Voivodeship
OSUCHY, POLAND - JULY 09, 2023: View of the largest Polish partisan cemetery in Poland, located in Osuchy, Lublin Voivodeship, Poland on July 09, 2023. The cemetery located in a pristine Polish forest, witnessed the largest WW2 partisan battle in Lublin area. Occurred on 25-26 June 1944, Polish partisans from the Home Army (AK) and Peasant Battalions (BCh) were surrounded on Poryte Hill, but broke free to Solska Forest near Osuchy. Nazis retaliated, killing civilians. The largest Polish partisan cemetery (300 graves) and its monument were opened in 1957, with an eagle added in the 1990s. (Photo by Artur Widak/NurPhoto)
