[INFO]: Internationally recognised as the largest sale of Rams in the world, Kelso Ram Sales under the auspices of The Border Union Agricultural Society, began in 1838 when 120 Rams were offered for sale by auction, fetching an average price of three to six pounds. The annual sale on the second Friday of September has grown and flourished since these early days, and now frequently offers well over 5,000 rams for auction in 15 rings from over 15 breeds. The Texel breed commanded the day's top prices in 2022, with eight shearling rams hitting the five-figure mark, selling to a top of ?52,000 for the best from the Wright family's Midlock consignment, from Crawford.
