Three Kings Day In Mexico
A figure of a Wizard King is being backlit outside a church in the Pueblo de los Reyes Culhuacan in the Iztapalapa mayor's office in Mexico City, as it tours several streets as part of the festivities on the occasion of Three Kings' Day in Mexico. According to belief, the Gospel of Saint Matthew mentions that some ''wise men'' from the East were guided by a star to worship the newborn king of the Jews. The names Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthazar first appeared in a 6th-century mosaic in the Basilica of Saint Apollinaris the New in Ravenna, Italy. (Photo by Gerardo Vieyra/NurPhoto)
