King Crab Fishing In Kirkenes
A fisherman is demonstrating a king crab to a group of people near a pier in Jentoftbukta Bay in Kirkenes, Norway, on January 13, 2024. The king crab (Paralithodes camtschaticus) is known to be one of the largest crabs in the world. Kirkenes, located at the northeastern tip of Norway and in the Barents Sea region, offers excellent fishing opportunities for this crustacean. The cold, nutrient-rich waters provide a perfect habitat for the species. Participants on king crab fishing trips are enjoying the experience of joining fishing boats, setting crab traps, and admiring the beauty of the Arctic landscape. (Photo by Jorge Mantilla/NurPhoto)
