King Crab Fishing In Kirkenes

A fisherwoman is explaining the king crab to a group of people during a fishing trip in Jentoftbukta Bay, Kirkenes, Norway, on January 13, 2024. The king crab (Paralithodes camtschaticus) is known to be one of the largest crabs in the world. Kirkenes, located at the northeastern tip of Norway and in the Barents Sea region, offers excellent fishing opportunities for this crustacean. The cold, nutrient-rich waters provide a perfect habitat for the species. King crab fishing trips are often exciting experiences where participants can join fishing boats, set crab traps, and enjoy the beauty of the Arctic landscape. (Photo by Jorge Mantilla/NurPhoto)
